Description
Kalemegdan is one of Serbia’s largest landmarks located in the historic part of the city and is strategically located at the mouth of the Sava and Danube rivers. During the 19th century it was transformed into a park and became one of the main tourist attractions. This fortress, full of history that used to be Belgrade’s main military stronghold in ancient times, was used to watch the enemy and the place where the army was awaiting the coming battle.
Packed with monuments, underground tunnels and museums, you can walk and enjoy the Kalemegdan fortress on the walls, from which the view is incredible. Visiting this fortress is not only attractive to history buffs, it is also a true cure for both body and soul.
